Good day,

Is it possible to open log files in another program than DAQ manager?

We have a very big log, where the 100k sample point limitation in DAQ manager is making going through the log a very lengthy process. If possible to open direct to excel or similar, we just need the raw data and don't have need for graph display of the signals.

Dear Jensen,

Yes, it is possible to read logged data from MultiCon with another program than DAQ Manager.
Excel can work with maximum 64k rows in one sheet, so it might not be a good solution.
How many exactly samples (rows) is in your data? If it's not much more over 100k we can consider preparing special DAQ Manager version for you, but much data may slow the computer significantly.
Other possibility is to read lodded data and process it on your own.
Here is a description how to reach current measurements, and logged data with any system (including PLC systems):

I) CURRENT MEASUREMENTS

User can reach current measurements in 3 ways, protocols: HTTP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP.

1. HTTP
Format describe is available in every device at page:
http://<<IP address>>/data_format.html#measurements

And here is how to get the data.
http://<<IP address>>/NetworkInterfaceDescription.html#current

2. Modbus RTU and TCP
Format describe and type of data is in the manual. The way how to read them is available in other documents regarding protocols Modbus TCP/RTU.
Tests may be performed with common free tools.

User can use one of the free programs available in the internet, i.e. command line program:

If user wants to read value of the channel #56 of MultiCon working at:
- 9600 kbps
Modbus RTU (or TCP)
- address 10
- COM 7 (or 192.168.1.100)
he can read this as follows:

RTU
32-bit value of the channel 59 float register (744):
modpoll -t 4:float -f -0 -r 744 -m rtu -a 10 -b 9600 -p none COM7

32-bit value of the channel 59 integer register (1256):
modpoll -t 4:int -i -0 -r 1256 -m rtu -a 10 -b 9600 -p none COM7

Value of 16-bit ID register 21h:
modpoll -t 4 -0 -r 33 -m rtu -a 10 -b 9600 -p none COM7

TCP
32-bit value of the channel 59 float register 744:
modpoll -t 4:float -f -0 -r 744 -m tcp 192.168.1.100

32-bit value of the channel 59 integer register 1256:
modpoll -t 4:int -i -0 -r 1256 -m tcp 192.168.1.100

Value of 16-bit ID register
modpoll -t 4 -0 -r 33 -m tcp 192.168.1.100

II) LOGGED DATA

Access to the logged data user can get via HTTP protocol.

1. HTTP
Data format describe:

How to read the data:
